February My Glam Bag

Good news for anyone on the waitlist for a My Glam bag – a spot will be opening soon cause this beauty in a box (bag) lover is canceling her subscription. After a promising start with the debut bag full of cosmetics from quality brands like Urban Decay and luxury for less makeup favorite NYX Cosmetics, the January bag left me less than satisfied. I stuck it out for another month to give them a chance to redeem themselves, but instead they sent me… another Freeman facial mask! That sealed the deal for my decision to cancel my membership and confirmed my suspicion that perhaps I am not the target demographic for the My Glam bag.

Here’s a peek inside my final My Glam Bag:
1. X Out Shine Control: moisturizer and mattifying complex
2. NYX Roll on Shimmer in Platinum: eye, face, and body powder
3. Premier Dead Sea Cinderella Mask and eye cream
4. Freeman Facial Masks Sachets in Goji Berry
5. NuMe styling tools and hair extensions $100 gift certificate
6. Two Ghiradelli chocolate squares (not pictured because I had a chocolate craving-sorry!)
I’ll be sure to keep you all posted on my current favorite beauty subscription service Birchbox and as always any future beauty endeavors. Next up- debating between subscribing to either Allure and Beauty Bar’s Sample Society or New Beauty’s Test Tube. Leave me a comment if you have feedback on any of these services, I would love your input.

  1. I'm with you; a little disappointed in this month's bag. I'm not canceling yet because they seem to have been really open to feedback with the last bag and everyone has mentioned the lack of beauty products, so I'm hoping they will put out a more makeup oriented bag next month. If not, I will probably cancel. Birchbox is still my fav, too! I'm set to receive the first Sample Society (ships in March, I think) and I'm hoping for great things!

  2. Me too =( I am very disappointed! I read somewhere that when you peel the X out paper the tube will say Meaningful Beauty Cindy Crawford, so I peeled it and it is. It's scary you don't know exactly what products you are putting on your face =(

  3. Sample Society is a partnership between Allure and Beautybar.com. I had high hopes for them when signing up since Allure is a big timer in the beauty business and should have more access to branded product samples (not cheap ones like MyGlam! Eeeeek!) from the many companies they already partner/work regularly with.Guess what? I just received my SS March box today and it totally did not disappoint! My decision to unsubscibe from MyGlam was the right one! Samples are huge and not merely pathetic sachets like the ones in the Feb Glam Bag. Products included Fekkai, Skyn Iceland, REN, Dermalogica, and Oscar de la Renta! The Skyn Iceland eye roller in particular is full size and retails normally at $20! Total value of products in my box is at least $55!Say NO to MyGlam, YES to Sample Society!

  4. To cancel you need to log on to your account on their website and it is a simple process from there- I believe you hit \”Cancel my subscription\” and that's it.
