When I found out I would be covering Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and took a peek at the calendar line up, Whitney Eve by Whitney Port was one of the first shows I knew I wanted, no needed, to attend. I’ve always loved Whitney, from her Teen Vogue intern days to those last few episodes of The City that I half watched.
My admiration for Whitney continued even after running into her (literally) one night in the East Village and not receiving a Tweet back from her about the incident (sad, but true- sometimes I Tweet at celebrities and become upset when there’s no response back).
Being the nerd that I am, I was super thrilled to be in the front row seat at Whitney Eve’s show this morning. The collection reflected Whitney’s personal style with mixed prints, textured knits, fitted blazers, and some sparkles thrown in the mix with metallic details dressing up shirts, blazers, and shorts.
On the beauty front, Make Up For Ever used a gorgeous orange-red shade of lipstick that complimented the playful, feminine clothing. As for the hair… well, I guess every model can’t have sleek, easy breezy waves like designer Whitney Port. But I think I may have preferred that. Nails were by Zoya, a layer of Zoya Maisie over the powder blue Zoya Kristen.
